Our story
The mill that runs on one fiber.
For more than forty years our family mill dyed and printed cotton for other people’s labels. Now it carries our own name and reaches you directly.

Forty years of cotton
Long before there was a brand, there was a mill in Dhaka. Cotton dyed and printed for labels you’d know but never saw us behind. Four decades of knowing exactly what real cotton should feel like.
চল্লিশ বছর অন্যদের জন্য। এবার আপনার জন্য।
Built by hand, handed down
The mill was built by family, and the care in every inch is the kind you can’t put on a spec sheet. Fussy about fiber, patient with dye – that’s the standard we inherited, and the one we refuse to lower.

The dye decides
Our reactive dyes form a chemical bond with cellulose, the fiber cotton is made of. Polyester has nothing for that bond to hold on to. It has to be colored an entirely different way, and it shows, in the third wash.
Chemistry tells you what a cloth isn’t. It doesn’t tell you everything. Viscose is cellulose too, and it takes reactive dye just as well as cotton does, which is why the dye alone was never going to be proof. That’s why we’d rather you tested the cloth in your own hands than took our word for the chemistry.
The dye decides. আমরা না।

Sent to you unstitched
Every print is drawn, named, chosen by us. Then sent to you unstitched , three pieces – ready for your tailor and your taste. Your cut, your silhouette, your way. No two of you will wear it the same, and that’s exactly the point.
A note from us
I grew up around this cotton long before I knew it would have a name. Cotton District is my way of bringing it out from behind other labels and into your hands. Honestly made, beautifully printed, and yours to finish.
